What a day. First Willa has transformed into this super, fucking gorgeous woman. Then Ezio embedded the idea of an open relationship with Willa, and on top of all of these strange occurrences, I found out Willaâs my manager. Iâm happy for her, but she never told me this over the phone. Questions swam around in my head all morning and it was hard for me to put a finger on it. Who was Ezio? What was Ezio? And why was Willa acting so different? âGrayson?â Ezio asked softly. Hesitantly, I moved my head, trying not to give him eye contact for fear of picturing him naked with Willa between his legs enjoying an appetizer before lunch.
Shaking the thoughts from my head, I cleared my throat, âYes. Um, yes?â My focus was on his tie clip, and it was the same symbol as what the other demons wore in some fashion. This had to be some demonic symbol and it was a telltale sign, Ezio was a demon too. Why would he be with Willa? What was it about her that a demon would want to get close to her? Was she possessed after I left and persuaded to join the leagues of creepyville? They were all questions I couldnât answer on my own but would get clarification over time from Willa; if she knew her place in all of this that was.
I felt breakfast sticking to my stomach and bile creeping up the back of my throat. âEzio, man! Will youâuh, excuse me?â I was out of my seat before I finished the sentence, hightailing it to the bathroom to retch everything I ate this morning. No wonder Willa looked like a goddess and acted differently, it was safe to assume this demon compelled her and made her lose what sensibility she had before I left for Vail. I missed my old Willa and wanted her back. This new Willa was like a mindless, plastic Barbie and so subservient with Ezio, it was nauseating. I leaned against the metal stall and pulled my dagger from my boot, flipping it between my fingers. The enemy was in my sights, and I could kill him in the cubicle, and no one would know until later. Until it occurred to me what a huge fucking mess Balthazar made when I killed him. No, no, noâI had to time this perfectly, but I couldnât wait too long, I had to protect Willa before he succeeded at taking her soul.
Once I gained some strength back, I rushed to Chadâs desk, interrupting some mindless conversation about whatever didnât appeal to me. âYo, Gray! Sup? Oh, we were talking about the hot new manager who took Jamesâs place.â
I laughed sardonically, âAre you guys aware thatâs Willa Chambers?â In unison, they all gasped in disbelief, then started wagering on who was going to nail her first. âReally guys? Itâs still Willa who would have your balls in a vice if you ever thought about approaching her on that topic.
